Matakana Cycle Trail Illustrations
The Matakana Coastal Trail is a recreational and adventure trail connecting coastal communities from Pūhoi in the south, along the Matakana coast, to Mangawhai in the north.
Working alongside the team at Maynard, who delivered the wayfinding system, I created a series of hero illustrations that capture the character of the trail — handmade, highly crafted, local, and community-focused. Each illustration was cut in lino, hand-printed, and then digitised for use across signage, bringing a tactile, human quality to the wayfinding and reflecting the landscape and communities the trail moves through.
